Centre based

Outdoor education your way, for your school

Centre Based programs allow for a variety of positive outcomes including teamwork, social connections and self-confidence. Optimum Experiences utilises a diverse range of centre-based locations dependant upon clients needs. This allows us to develop programs specifically designed to suit your groups outcomes whilst being actively supported by our specialist facilitators. Connect and share around the campfire, cook damper, get creative, and enjoy the activities on offer.

Nature-based learning

High wires

High rope adventures include the Giant Leap, Flying Fox and Transporter. See students change their perspectives as they abseil down cliff faces. We safely tailor challenges to individuals.

Archery

All our outdoor education activities are based on outcomes aligned with the Australian Curriculum, in consultation with Outdoor Education Australia. Watch as students develop their coordination, focus and determination.

Bush discovery

A walk in the bush is transformed into a learning experience, where students open their eyes to humans’ connection with nature. Join them as they develop their ecological literacy and learn about sustainability and conservation.

Canoe

Getting out on the water is a wonderful way for students to learn the importance of communication, teamwork, resilience and safety - as well as being a lot of fun. We also talk about water as it relates to students’ Geography units.

Team initiatives

Engage in practical problem-solving and effective communication challenges that will strengthen group dynamics and foster cooperation. Our program empowers participants to collaborate, communicate, and overcome obstacles together, creating a cohesive and resilient team.

Culture and environment

At our campgrounds, we invite local Indigenous education specialists, Gadhungal Marring, to share their knowledge and stories of the surrounding environment – the forest and its river, waterfalls, rock formations, flora and fauna. Night activities could include a campfire, corroboree or starlit walk.

Like all our school camp programs, activities are tailored to your group, depending on age, ability and school goals, based on our sequential learning design for outdoor education.
